What happens when staff are appointed?

TQtwentyone staff are appointed on a six month probation period and all newly recruited staff undertake a comprehensive, five-day Induction Course and local house induction. Front-line staff also complete the Skills for Care Induction Qualification before their probation period is confirmed.

Once a new member of staff has successfully completed their probation period, their on-going training requirements are directly linked to the personalised support plans of individual service users they support, as well as statutory and mandatory training requirements.

Our Training

We have our own Training Function which delivers and facilitates a very comprehensive specialist training calendar reflecting modern, innovative practice, values and expectations of excellent service delivery.

The training content of every course is regularly evaluated, updated and adapted to ensure it includes new initiatives, statutory and mandatory changes and meets the learning needs of our staff.

How we will support you

We support our staff to develop their knowledge and skills through the use of regular support and supervision, appraisal and personal development plans which focus on the needs of the people they support.

We also support staff to achieve formal qualifications such as National Vocational Qualification Award and other specific specialist training.

Exceptional staff performance and attainment of qualifications is recognised at the Annual Awards Ceremony.
